Negation

Put these negative words in the right place:

NEVER | NOTHING | NOBODY | NEITHER | NOWHERE

Rappel grammatical : La forme négative

Chacun de ces mots est suffisant en lui-même pour indiquer la négation. Le verbe qui l’accompagne est donc toujours à l’affirmatif.

She never takes sugar in her coffee. Elle ne prend jamais de sucre dans son café.

Nobody can run a mile in one minute. Personne ne peut courir un mile(1 609m)  en une minute.

I know nothing about chemistry. Je ne connais rien en chimie.

Neither Steven nor I has been to Northern Ireland. Ni Steven ni moi n’avons visité l’Irlande du Nord.

Notez que le verbe (has) est au singulier.

There was nowhere to hide. On ne pouvait se cacher nulle part.
